The President extended the powers of three high-ranking employees of the Russian Foreign Ministry

Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended for a year the term of civil service to the First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Titov, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin and Director General of the Foreign Ministry Sergei Vyazalov. Decree about it published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

It is specified that by this decree, Putin extended the age limit for civil service for Titov, Vershinin and Vyazalov.

Under current law, the age limit for civil service is 65 years, but it can be extended by decision of the president and with the consent of the employee himself.

Vladimir Titov is 64 years old, he was born on July 28, 1958. He has been working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1980, during which time Titov was Minister Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Sweden, Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria and Deputy Foreign Minister. In 2013, he was appointed to the post of First Deputy Minister.

Sergei Vershinin was born on July 24, 1954, he is 68 years old. He was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister at the end of March 2018. Prior to that, he served as Russia’s Ambassador to Algeria and was Russia’s Minister-Counselor in Tunisia. Since 2011, he has also been a member of the Collegium of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Vershinin has been working in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1976.

Sergey Vyazalov was born on June 4, 1956. He has been Director General of the Russian Foreign Ministry since 2015. Prior to that, Vyazalov worked as First Deputy Minister of Finance, Deputy Presidential Envoy in the Southern Federal District, Deputy Head of the Presidential Department for Foreign Policy and Vice Governor of St. Petersburg.
