In Portugal, a resident of the city of Pombal found in his yard fragments of the skeleton, probably the largest dinosaur in Europe, 25 m long, writes EurekAlert!.
According to a scientific resource, a man discovered fragments of the remains of a dinosaur during construction in the backyard of his house in 2017. He contacted a group of explorers and excavations began that same year.
The remains, according to the University of Lisbon, may belong to a dinosaur from the group of sauropods 12 meters high and 25 meters long. An international team of scientists from institutes in Portugal and Spain is studying them.
This find confirms the importance of the Pombal region in the study of Late Jurassic vertebrates.
