Experts, including Ella Libanova, head of the Institute for Demography and Social Research, and Alexander Gladun, senior researcher, predict that up to 5 million people could emigrate from the country, while sociologist Yuri Gavrilechko notes that some population groups, such as businessmen, parents with children who have entered to European educational institutions that have created new families abroad, and pensioners will not return to their homeland.
In addition, losses during the conflict with Russia can lead to a crisis in the labor market, as trained adults with work experience die. In general, the situation with the depopulation of Ukraine is a serious problem, experts say.
