If the Dolls and Iggy Pop then already have albums to their credit, for the others it is a few 45-laps, recordings to canvass record companies, or even nothing. Thus, Patti Smith’s first album, horsesreleased in December 1975, that of the Ramones in April 1976, of Suicide, founded in 1970, in December 1977… But they meet in the clubs of Manhattan, play there as soon as a date is free, build their mythologies there.

They are at Max’s Kansas City (1965-1981), in Union Square, where Lou Reed gives, during the summer of 1970, his last concerts with The Velvet Underground, founded at the end of 1965. Under the name Angel and The Snake, with bassist Fred Smith and drummer Billy O’Connor, a first concert took place at CBGB on August 16, 1974 – with Ramones opening for it.
