The Pomorie team reached the playoffs of the Russian Futsal Championship

Today in Arkhangelsk the game of the final 21st round of the Western Conference of the Major League of the country’s futsal (mini-football) championship took place. Our club “Pomorye” hosted Nizhny Novgorod “Torpedo-2”. This was reported by the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region.

The game began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack on March 22 at Crocus City Hall. In the first half, the guests quickly took the lead, and then briefly strengthened the advantage to two goals. The hosts responded once with a beautiful strike from Andrei Zavolokin.

At the beginning of the second half, Arkhangelsk goalkeeper Alexander Zakharov was sent off for a last-resort foul. Artyom Loginov, who replaced him, immediately entered the game, saved his team several times and did not miss until the final whistle.

A few minutes before the end of the match, Konstantin Chashchin equalized the score – a draw 2:2. The outcome of the game was decided in a penalty shootout, where the Torpedo-2 players were stronger – 4:3.

– I have no doubt at all that our MFC Pomorie has earned the right to play in the main part of the season. Over the three rounds of the tournament, the guys played many high-quality matches, showed character and progress compared to the previous year,” said Deputy Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Sergei Pivkov. – Many thanks to the Promconsult company, which became a sponsor of our team this season. This is an excellent example of public-private partnership. Together we are able to develop mini-football in the region, which is proven by the results of the main team. On behalf of the Governor and the Government of the Arkhangelsk region, I can say that we will continue to invest both in the Pomorie team of masters and in the development of children’s and youth futsal.

In the regular season, MFK Pomorie scored 23 points and took sixth place in the Western Conference.

Now our team will compete in the playoffs of the Russian Major League. The first matches will take place next week.
