The court gave 6 years in a colony-settlement to the pilot of the SSJ-100 that burned down in Sheremetyevo
The Khimki city court sentenced Denis Evdokimov, a pilot at the Moscow Sheremetyevo airport SSJ-100, to 6 years in a colony-settlement.
Evdokimov was found guilty under Part 3 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of traffic safety rules”).
In addition, the court banned the Russian citizen from holding the position of an aircraft pilot for three years and collected 3 million rubles from him in favor of the two victims.
After the meeting, Evdokimov did not comment on the verdict. His defense plans to appeal the verdict in the near future.
Recall that on May 5, 2019, the SSJ 100 aircraft, after returning to the airport of departure, made a hard landing on the Sheremetyevo runway. Incorrect actions of the pilot caused the liner to ignite, killing over 40 people.
