The play “Einstein and Margarita” with the participation of actors Ksenia Rappoport and Alexey Serebryakov was canceled in Yaroslavl. The performance of the production was planned on the stage of the Millennium Cultural and Cultural Center on February 25, then was postponed to a day later. And by this time he disappeared from the poster. An announcement about the cancellation of the performance was posted on the KZT website with a promise to return money for tickets.
The reason for the cancellation was appeals from Yaroslavl activists. They motivated the sending of letters to various departments with demands to ban the performance of the play due to the socio-political position of the artists. They were not satisfied with the actors living abroad and their criticism of the Central Military District. According to Yaroslavl resident Sergei Kazansky, it was extremely illogical that in 2023 the performance of the play was canceled in Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg, but at the same time it was allowed to be shown now in Yaroslavl.
As a result, after additional consultations, taking into account public opinion, it was decided to ban the production in the region.
Actress Ksenia Rappoport, according to media reports, has been spending a lot of time in Italy in recent years, where she has real estate. Alexey Serebryakov spent a long time in Canada, where his children studied.
