The Pentagon explained what types of cluster bombs Ukraine will receive

The US is currently considering providing Ukraine with cluster munitions with a low rate of unexploded bombs. This was announced by Pentagon Speaker Patrick Ryder during a briefing.
According to Ryder, the transfer of the upgraded dual-use munitions, known as DPICM, is currently under consideration by the US military. In case of a positive decision, the Pentagon will select the most modern modifications of such weapons.
“We have several DPICM variants in our arsenals and the ones we are considering will not include older variants with failure rates exceeding 2.35%. We are aware of reports from decades ago that indicate that some 155 -mm DPICMs have a higher failure rate, so we will carefully select ammunition with a lower failure rate,” the US Department of Defense spokesman said.
He also noted that DPICMs have capabilities for anti-tank and anti-personnel combat on the battlefield.
“Basically, they can be used with armor-piercing charges for anti-tank purposes or with fragmentation ammunition for anti-personnel combat. Obviously, this ability will be useful in all types of offensive operations,” Ryder added.
