The Pentagon allowed the appearance of a winter “window” for talks on Ukraine

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Milley, admitted that conditions could be created in winter for the start of negotiations to resolve the situation around Ukraine.
As he noted at a press conference following the meeting of the contact group on assistance to Ukraine, a lot can happen in winter, but usually due to weather conditions, tactical operations slow down.
“If this happens, then there may be a window for a political settlement, or at least the start of negotiations,” he said.
At the same time, Milley recalled that both US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously stated that this crisis should eventually be resolved politically.
