The Kremlin noted the restrained reaction of the United States to the incident with missiles in Poland

The “hysterical” and “Russophobic” reaction of the Polish authorities once again proves that one should not draw hasty conclusions, in contrast, one can note the restrained statement of the United States. Thus, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented on the incident with the fallen missiles in Poland.

“We have witnessed another hysterical frenzied Russophobic reaction, which was not based on any real data,” Peskov said.

As the Kremlin spokesman noted, this situation confirmed that one should not rush to make assessments “at such crucial moments”. According to Peskov, there was no reason to escalate the situation, since the Poles had information about the fragments of the C-300 missile, which is not related to Russian weapons.

Peskov also pointed to a “more professional reaction” from US President Joe Biden. According to him, the “restrained” reaction of the American authorities contrasted with the “hysterical” statements of Poland. He added that in such “potentially dangerous incidents” the Polish side should be given “more balanced” comments.

Peskov also recalled that Western countries did not react so painfully to the sabotage at Nord Stream. He noted that at that time “no one was in a hurry to figure out” who was behind the damage to the pipelines. According to him, Moscow would like to hear such an “emotionally overwhelmed” reaction to the Nord Stream situation.

The incident with the fall of missiles on the territory of Poland occurred on November 15. Local media reported that two people were killed in the incident. Against the backdrop of these events, the Polish authorities called an urgent meeting of the national security committee. The Polish Foreign Ministry said that the weapons were supposedly Russian. In this regard, the Russian ambassador to the republic, Sergei Andreev, was summoned to the ministry.

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation declaredthat Russia did not strike near the Ukrainian-Polish border. The incident was described by the department as a “deliberate provocation.” Later Associated Press citing three US officials reportedthat the missile that fell in Poland belongs to Kyiv, the Ukrainian military allegedly tried to shoot down the Russian missile.

US President Joe Biden declaredthat the missile’s trajectory indicates a “low probability” of Russia’s involvement in the incident. Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan notedwhich believes the statement of Russia and believes that the country has nothing to do with what happened.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reportedthat the debris in the photographs from the missile crash site in Poland belonged to the Ukrainian S-300 missile system. The ministry stressed that the Russian army had only attacked targets on the territory of Ukraine, no closer than 35 km from the Ukrainian-Polish border.
