Twix the cat, who was thrown from the train by the conductor, died.

“Why are people so cruel! Our cat’s happiness did not last long – first he was thrown out by himself and ended up in a shelter, and then by the train conductor. But the cat still lived in our family for two years, in love and care. It’s very painful to lose him like this,” Twix’s owner, with tears in his voice, told MK the story of his pet.

Let us remind you that for almost a week the whole country was watching, and volunteers, police and rescuers helped to find a red, sweet and kind cat named Twix, whom the conductor of the Ekaterinburg-St. Petersburg train took and threw out of the car at Kirov station in 30-degree frost . Today it became known that the cat was found dead.

“We hoped that the cat found near Kirov was not ours,” Twix’s owner Edgard told MK. – But, yes, it’s him. I can’t express in words what’s in my heart right now. He was either hit by a car or died from the cold. There are no dog bites, as they write everywhere now, on the body. Only the skin and neck are wrinkled. We found him this morning about 8 km from Kirov. We haven’t taken him yet; the cat’s body is now with volunteer Olga from this city. We urgently need to establish the cause of death in order to further initiate a criminal case. We will punish the guilty. Believe me, this will not go unpunished! We will ensure that all those responsible are punished – in particular, the train conductor and the Russian Railways company itself, because it allows incompetent employees to work.

– Who found Twix, how?

– A man was driving about his business today, he had previously heard news about a missing cat and saw him on the side of the road. I immediately sent the photo to my wife, and she sent it to everyone she could. Volunteers immediately arrived and took the body away. Yes, it was our Twix. Now we’ll get a certificate from the veterinarian, because it will be much easier to get a punishment.

– Tell us about the fate of Twix, how did he appear in your family?

– My whole family and I are from Bashkiria. But I worked in Zlatoust (Chelyabinsk region) for a long time. My wife and I often visited the local pet shelter there. They brought them food and everything they needed. That is, they volunteered. And it was there that we saw this red kitten with huge sad eyes. Someone threw him out of the house, and the kitten was taken to a shelter. At first we took him in for foster care, and then very quickly fell in love with all our hearts! They called him Twix – he’s red-haired, like a caramel chocolate bar! Kind, sympathetic, never scratches, purrs… We fell in love with him, and he loved us. We decided to leave it forever. Twix literally became a member of our family. He had something with the cardiovascular system since birth, so we cured him, and everything became fine. I then found a job near St. Petersburg, and Twix and I moved there. And this summer we went to visit my mother in Bashkiria, she lives in a village there. Twix has settled in perfectly there! This fall we had to return to St. Petersburg for work, and the cat began to have an upset stomach. The doctor said that he can’t be transported yet, there’s no need for stress. Left with mom. And a week ago, my stepfather went to visit us in St. Petersburg, and we agreed that he would finally bring us our cat.

– What carriage did he travel in?

– In a regular place, in a reserved seat. There was a separate ticket for the cat and all the certificates.

– So how did it happen that Twix ran away?

– Stepfather, Evgeniy, didn’t sleep all night. Some company was walking there. The cat was in a carrier, in a bag with a zipper. But he was so active and curious. So, in the morning, my stepfather finally fell asleep, and when he woke up, the cat was no longer in the carrier. As I later found out, Twix (maybe someone opened it, or maybe he got out on his own) went for a walk around the carriage. The conductor saw him and allegedly started asking whose cat it was. But many were asleep, and I don’t believe, to be honest, that she asked everyone. I just took it at a bus stop in Kirov and threw it out of the car. The stepfather then searched for him for a long time, informed us, and we immediately posted a message on social networks about the search for the cat. And then we saw a video of this conductor throwing our Twix out of the car.

– Did the volunteers get involved right away?

– Yes, thank them very much! And they wrote in the media and they themselves looked for him all week. Most likely, our cat got scared and hid somewhere, and then walked along the tracks, along the roads. My poor!

Just yesterday evening, as it turned out, the cat was seen alive not far from Kirov, and they even tried to feed it. But, most likely, the cat again ran away from the noise of the trains and hid somewhere.

– All this time we continued to look for him. But this morning we were informed that Twix was found dead. Volunteers searching for the animal reported on social networks that the animal’s corpse was found in the snow near the railway. Probably hit by a car. Very hard. How can you treat a defenseless animal like this? For what?! For eight days he fought for his life. And he walked eight kilometers looking for us. We won’t just leave it all like that!–
