Earlier, the media and experts drew attention to the movement of the tanker near the place of explosions on Nord Stream shortly before the sabotage.
The company confirmed that the ship was from 6 to 13 September 2022 northeast of the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. The statement says that the crew was waiting for instructions on further movement, and after receiving them, they went to Tallinn.
Earlier, analyst Oliver Alexander indicated that the sailing yacht Andromeda was supposed to be there at the same time, which, according to Der Spiegel sources, could be used by the organizers of the sabotage on gas pipelines to transport explosives.
On September 26, there was a leak on one of the lines of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the exclusive economic zone of Denmark. The operating company Nord Stream AG reported a pressure drop on both lines of Nord Stream. Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov, speaking via video link at a meeting of the UN Security Council, said that the company is currently looking for options to restore the Nord Stream system, but it is impossible to estimate the time frame for restoring the system to work at the moment.
Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that Russia would definitely identify all those involved in the sabotage against the Nord Stream, and ordinary terrorists are not capable of an action of such complexity and scale. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation initiated the initiation of a case on an act of international terrorism. As Reuters reported, a few hours after the explosion on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, a US Navy P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft flew near the place of sabotage.
Germany, Denmark and Sweden are investigating what happened on the gas pipelines. Moscow has repeatedly stated that Russian specialists were not allowed to participate in the process and called for an objective international investigation.
