FOM: 79% of Russians trust Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin is trusted by 79% of the country’s citizens, follows from the results survey Fund “Public Opinion”, held on March 3-5 among 1500 respondents.

Another 12% of the respondents said that they rather do not trust the head of state, 9% found it difficult to answer. A week earlier, the president’s confidence rating was 81%. At the same time, 83% of respondents gave a good assessment of Putin’s work as president. This is 2 pp higher than in the previous two weeks. Rather, 9% of respondents rated his work poorly.

The work of the Russian government was positively assessed by 55% of Russians, negatively by 26%. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin’s job approval rating was 58% (+1 pp for the week). 29% of respondents assessed the results of the head of government’s activities negatively.

The rating of United Russia for the same period was 45% (-2 p.p.), the Communist Party – 9%, the Liberal Democratic Party – 7%, and A Just Russia – for the Truth and New People – 3% each.

How wrote Earlier, Vedomosti, the television broadcast of Putin’s message to the Federal Assembly on February 21, was watched by 13.7 million Russians over the age of four who live in Russian cities with a population of 100,000 or more. The cumulative rating of the broadcast reached 13%, and the share (the average number of viewers of the broadcast, expressed as a percentage of the number of those who were watching TV screens at a particular moment) was 68.8%. These figures, according to Mediascope, are record-breaking over the past four years. In the period from 2019 to 2021, the maximum TV coverage reached 9.1 million Russians.
