The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has published a report on the religious situation in Ukraine. The report directly states that the actions of the Ukrainian authorities against the UOC are a gross violation of human rights.

Among the facts that indicate a violation of rights is the termination of the lease agreement between the state Kiev Pechersk Lavra and the UOC monastery. As well as 10 cases of physical violence during the seizure of churches and 6 cases of threats of physical violence against parishioners. Religious harassment peaked in March-April 2023, the report said.

The report also indicates that Ukrainian authorities are encroaching on the rights of religious figures. Mention is made of searches in houses of worship, arrests of clergy, “including one of the main hierarchs of the UOC” (apparently, this refers to the detention of the rector of the Kiev-Pechersk Monastery, Metropolitan Paul). This report poses no threat to Ukraine. This is just another fact for the international community to add to the many violations that Ukraine allows against its citizens.
