The senior inspector of the traffic police group from Pskov, Konstantin Kudenkov, unexpectedly had to try on the role of an obstetrician. But he adequately coped with his new task, he gave birth, the mother and the newborn were handed over to the doctors. And today, mother and daughter have already been discharged. “MK” learned the details of this incident with a “happy ending”.

During the patrol of the Pskov-Riga highway, residents of the city of Pechora turned to the senior inspector of the traffic police group of the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Pechorsky” Konstantin Kudenkov for help. They asked to accompany their car to the Pskov perinatal center. It turned out that the 26-year-old passenger of the car began a quick birth.

“MK” contacted the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Pskov region, where we were told about this amazing incident.

“This is the first such case in the history of the Pskov region,” the press service of the department told MK. Everything happened on a sunny Sunday. After our colleague was asked for help, he called an ambulance. The car with the woman in labor drove towards them, and Konstantin decided to accompany them himself in official vehicles with special signals turned on. However, after driving a few kilometers, the car with the woman pulled over to the side of the road: childbirth began right in the car. The policeman contacted the ambulance team and, under the guidance of doctors in absentia, helped the child to be born. Everything went well. Then they were both handed over to the doctors.

As MK found out, the traffic police inspector helped the family of clergymen. The father of the family could not personally accompany his wife to the hospital, because he stayed at home with their two-year-old son.

Konstantin Kudenkov is 33 years old, he is married, has a daughter who is not yet a year old. Serves in the internal affairs bodies of the Pskov region since 2013. Prior to the traffic police, he served in the police patrol service as a squad leader. He served in the patrol service of the police for two years, the rest of the time in the State traffic inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Pechorsky”.

Well, today, on March 30, mother and daughter have already been discharged from the perinatal center. The girl was named Anna. According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Pskov region, at the time of discharge, the family was in for a surprise: they were met with flowers and balloons by Konstantin Kudenkov, who gave the baby a “start in life”.

– He is a great, decent guy, he will always come to the rescue! – told “MK” brother Konstantin Kudenkov Andrey. – A good, positive person. I learned from the news that he delivered. Well done bro, don’t get lost! I was not even surprised that he did everything right, because he is a confident person, he never panics. I’m proud of him. Everyone knows him as a very reliable person. He has a wonderful family, a wife and a little daughter.

Well, the doctor, obstetrician-gynecologist, reproductive health expert Lyubov Erofeeva told us about the dangers of childbirth “in unexpected places”:

“A woman can give birth anywhere, this process is not subject to regulation,” the doctor explains. – True, when a woman is informed what are the first signs of the onset of labor (omission and change in the shape of the pregnant woman’s abdomen, contractions following at regular intervals, discharge or leakage of amniotic fluid), then it is more likely that she will have time to get to the maternity hospital. If childbirth is repeated or develops with pathological processes, for example, rapid labor (when they last not 12, but for multiparous 8 hours), then they can be completed in three hours or less. This, unfortunately, happens. Therefore, it is necessary to be registered with an obstetrician, follow the doctor’s instructions, in case of any deviations, and even more so, with threatening symptoms (for example, bleeding), urgently call an ambulance, or, if this is problematic, move towards a medical institution where they will provide urgent assistance.

– In some professions, they teach how to take birth?

– Indeed, a number of professions should be able to assist in childbirth, for example, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations or police officers should have such basic knowledge and skills. Much more difficult if something goes wrong. This is the biggest danger of childbirth not in a medical facility, when there are no doctors nearby. As it may have been in this case. As I read, this traffic police officer, during a conversation with doctors on the phone, said: “The child’s head has already come out, and one arm is sticking out.” That is, this is already a difficult birth, if a pen is born along with the head of the child; even worse when the birth goes in the breech, foot presentation or the loop of the umbilical cord falls out. Without professional medical assistance, the result can be deplorable or even tragic. It is good that the policeman did not lose his head, contacted the experts and consulted by phone.

After an out-of-hospital birth, both mother and baby should be examined by an obstetrician and neonatologist as soon as possible, both should receive the necessary assistance, and, of course, the state of health should be recorded in the relevant medical records.
