The death toll from the shelling of Alchevsk (LPR) by Ukraine has increased to nine people. About it informed officer of the People’s Militia of the LPR Andrey Marochko in his Telegram channel.
“As of 11.00 Moscow time, the number of civilian casualties as a result of the shelling of Alchevsk has increased to 9 people,” he wrote.
Marochko clarified that search and rescue operations are ongoing.
Earlier today, the death of three residents of Alchevsk as a result of the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed Acting head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik. In his Telegram channel, he said that, according to preliminary data, three people died, another 15 were injured.
Pasechnik said that the day before, on December 4, the Ukrainian military had hit the DonGTI Industrial College and the hostel. Three more dormitories of the Donbass State Institute came under shelling today. He clarified that the students were previously transferred to distance learning, but the dormitories housed settlers and builders who arrived to restore the region.
On December 4, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired on Alchevsk from the HIMARS MLRS. This was announced by the mayor of the city Albert Apshev. He notedthat no one was injured as a result of the attack, however, the dormitory of the Industrial College of DonGTI was completely destroyed and the glazing of the college was damaged. On December 5, the Ukrainian military again inflicted attack on the city by firing six HIMARS missiles.
