The number of trucks in a traffic jam on the border between Russia and Lithuania has increased from 80 to 100 – Kommersant

Senator from the Kaliningrad region Alexander Shenderyuk-Zhidkov said that Lithuania has tightened the transit of freight transport on the Russian border. In this regard, the number of trucks in a traffic jam at the border increased from 80 to 100. At the same time, according to the senator, the restrictions also affected freight transport with goods that are not subject to sanctions.

“Lithuania has introduced enhanced control of all trucks entering from the territory of the Kaliningrad region. Which leads to the fact that no more than 60 cars are processed per day. As a result, on Sunday morning there were already about 100 trucks in the queue, and it is constantly increasing,” the senator said in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

Yesterday afternoon, November 25, Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia reported, that on the Russian-Lithuanian section of the border in the Kaliningrad region there is a traffic jam of 80 trucks. The FCS explained this by the slow work of Lithuanian customs officers. However, the Lithuanian authorities did not comment on these reports.
