Kommersant got acquainted with HeadHunter statistics on the number of responses to IT vacancies in the Russian Federation in January-May 2023. It follows from this that the number of responses increased by 44% compared to the same period last year, to 23.4 million. At the same time, the number of posted vacancies increased by only 7% over the same period, to 274.9 thousand.
Participants of the IT market confirm the trend. At MTS, the number of responses to IT vacancies in the first quarter grew by 59% year-on-year, in total, MTS received 38,000 responses in 2023, the company said. In VK, the number of responses to vacancies doubled year-on-year in the first quarter, the company said. At the same time, the number of vacancies in the holding has almost tripled, to 1.5 thousand. In VK, the increase in the activity of applicants is associated with the departure of foreign vendors, an increase in the number of vacancies and general changes in the market.
According to Anna Amosova, HR director of video analytics developer NtechLab, the number of responses to company vacancies in the first quarter doubled compared to the total number of responses in 2022. Then, for the whole year, NtechLab received 585 responses, and for the first quarter of 2023 – 1.1 thousand. desire: “The decrease in the number of layoffs may be due to the fact that after the start of partial mobilization, many IT specialists wanted to receive a deferment from the draft.”
In September, after the announcement of partial mobilization, the Ministry of Digital prepared a list of IT specialties that receive reservations from being drafted into the army, among them are information security, cryptography, radio engineering and others, a total of 195 specialties.
Indeed, companies are now receiving more responses to requests to fill IT vacancies, confirms the president of NP Russoft Valentin Makarov: “This is partly due to the exemption from mobilization, but the combination of state support measures and the possibility of remote work also affect.” However, the expert adds, “the wave of applicants was filled by young people who rushed to remote IT courses”: “As a result, we now have an overabundance of candidates for junior positions who have clearly inflated salary expectations and unacceptably low qualifications that do not allow them to be hired” .
