The conductor who threw a Bashkortostan resident’s cat out of the train is being demanded by 220 thousand Russians

More than 222 thousand people signed a petition demanding the dismissal of the Ekaterinburg-St. Petersburg train conductor, who threw Twix the cat out of the train in Kirov.

Earlier it was reported that in Kirov the conductor threw the cat out of the carriage, after which it died. The owner of the cat, a native of Bashkiria, intends to make the woman answer for cruelty to animals according to the law. More than 300 people searched for the missing cat; the cause of his death was bite wounds and frostbite. The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not initiate a criminal case. Currently, a petition is being circulated on the Internet, the signatories of which are calling on the Russians to fire this conductor for violating job descriptions (a ticket was issued for the cat) and for cruelty to the animal, as well as to pay compensation to the owners for moral damages.

Russian Railways expressed regret over the death of the animal and apologized to its owners. It is also reported that an internal investigation has been carried out. The company noted that it had identified a number of shortcomings in the regulatory documentation. However, her statement also notes “the lack of mutual responsibility of the staff and the passenger” and “a coincidence of circumstances.”

The company said it is already working on changes to the regulatory framework governing the transportation of pets by rail. It has already been announced that a ban will be introduced for guides to drop off animals – this can only be done at stops, with the participation of representatives of animal protection organizations.
