The number of people infected with COVID-19 in Russia increased by 38% in a week

In Russia, 33,061 cases of coronavirus infection were detected over the past day. This is approximately 16.5% less than yesterday (39,669 infected). The number of daily hospitalizations also decreased – up to 1704 people (compared to 1853 hospitalized the day before). Despite the decrease in daily rates for the second day in a row, the overall increase in the incidence for the week was 38.4%, and the hospitalization rate in weekly terms increased by 22.3%, clarifies operational headquarters.

Regions leading in the number of new cases:

  • Moscow – 5172 (for all time – 2,966,772);
  • St. Petersburg – 4410 (1 621 680);
  • Moscow region – 1980 (1,037,491);
  • Sverdlovsk region – 725 (461,179);
  • Nizhny Novgorod region – 477 (434,538).

During the day in Russia, 57 people died from COVID-19 (7 people less than yesterday). The leading cities in terms of the number of deaths were Moscow (22 people) and St. Petersburg (5).
