In total, 13.05 million Russians had diseases of the endocrine system, eating disorders, and metabolic disorders in 2022. Of these, 5.27 million people were diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, obesity – in 2.17 million people. Moreover, in 2020, the number of people with similar diseases was almost a million less – 12.07 million people.
The Rosstat collection also indicates from 2010 to 2022 the number of people who play sports in sections and clubs increased from 26.3 million to 70 million people, respectively.
In the summer of 2023, the World Health Organization estimated that in 2021 the number of people with diabetes in the world was 529 million. By 2050, this number, according to WHO estimates, will increase to one and a half billion.
