Many discoveries in the field of space have been made in the capital: life support systems for astronauts, launch vehicles and much more. Moscow industrialists are still developing technologies for the industry today. The details were provided by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the capital Vladislav Ovchinsky. “The industry employs more than 40 metropolitan enterprises and various scientific and technical centers, laboratories and research institutes, employing over 30 thousand people. These are engineers and designers, developers and other specialists in related fields, thanks to whom the city creates almost everything: from ultra-light cables to launch vehicles and components for spacecraft,” the minister noted. A new stage in the rocket and space industry began with the Angara rocket complex.

The rocket was designed by the Moscow Khrunichev State Space Research and Production Center. The result was the successful launch of the Angara-A5 launch vehicle on April 11, 2024 from the Vostochny cosmodrome. Moscow enterprises contribute to the development of the industry. The capital’s Spetskabel plant produces cables for on-board computer networks using SpaceWire technology. At the Moscow Engineering Center “ASK” they are testing electronic components for products in the rocket and space industry. The capital’s manufacturer Vipax supplies IP video servers for storing data from video cameras for a large number of channels.
