According to Sofya Risovskaya, chairman of the commission for interaction with the media, fraudsters can illegally gain access to such a signature and use it to conclude transactions for the sale of housing without the consent of its legal owners. According to her, in order to gain access to the electronic signature, fraudsters may need a fake passport, as well as TIN and SNILS. She explained to RIA Novosti that attackers can use merged databases with scanned images of documents or simply fake them. The Federal Tax Service has already registered more than 43,000 violations using an electronic signature, including cases where the signature was issued on forged documents.
In addition, some unscrupulous employees of certification centers may use an electronic signature for illegal purposes or forget to revoke it from employees who have already been fired.
