An indoor sports facility for team sports appeared on the basis of the Iskra sports school in the Isakogorsk district. More than 45 million rubles were allocated from the federal, regional and city budgets for its construction.
“We have already recruited six groups of hockey players,” said the director of the Iskra sports school, Nikolai Nikiforov. – The court has a rubber coating, which allows you to practice in the summer. At the same time, such a coating will not affect the quality of the ice, since a special drainage system has been created. It remains for us to complete the construction of warm locker rooms, a coaching room and a room for sharpening skates. The project is already being prepared.
In winter, the facility will be used as a hockey court on natural ice. In the summer, the court will become a platform for other active sports, such as football, and competitions.
The Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexander Tsybulsky noted that this practice should be replicated to other municipalities of Pomorye.
– It turned out to be a very worthy multifunctional hockey court, where representatives of other sports can also play in the summer, which in the off-season often do not have enough space. This positive experience needs to be extended to other areas of the region, so that the guys go in for hockey in comfortable conditions, – the head of the region emphasized.
