On December 13, the Kotlas administration hosted a meeting between the mayor of the city, Denis Shevela, and athletes and coaches who had returned from international competitions. Athletes from the Martial Arts Center of the city of Kotlas, participants in the championship and world championship in universal combat, Paralympic athlete Matvey Begoulev, a participant in the international competitions of the BRICS countries, which were held in South Africa, were invited to the meeting. The athlete’s personal trainer Alexey Gennadievich Baboshin was also present at the meeting.
Denis Shevela presented the children and their coaches with letters of gratitude from the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region for their successful performance at international competitions and increasing the importance of sports in the Arkhangelsk Region.
Over a cup of tea, athletes and coaches expressed their wishes to the leaders of Kotlas about the development of sports in the city. In particular, the city is in dire need of opening a universal sports complex where one can practice all kinds of sports all year round. Also, coach Alexei Baboshin once again recalled that there is only one small table tennis hall in Kotlas, and it no longer accommodates everyone who wants to practice this sport, and the popularity of the activity among the population is very high.
