The Dutch Gymnastics Association announced a boycott of the Congress of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), as representatives of Russia and Belarus were admitted to the event.
As stated by the President of the National Federation of the Netherlands Monique Kempf, their organization remains in solidarity with the European Gymnastics Federation, which has stopped all contacts with the Russian and Belarusian federations.
The Netherlands became the seventh country to boycott the congress. Earlier, a similar decision was made by the federations of Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Ukraine and Norway.
Initially, the congress was to be held in Norway, but then the event was moved to Turkey, as the Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Culture of Norway refused to allow representatives of Russia to attend.
