The national project for the development of drones will be approved by the fall of this year

The national project for the development of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) will be approved by September 1, 2023. About this reported in the press service of the Russian government.

The national project includes four federal projects: “Personnel for unmanned aerial systems”, “Stimulation of demand for domestic UAS”, “Development, standardization and serial production of UAS and components”, as well as “Infrastructure development, security and formation of a specialized UAS certification system” .

At a meeting with drone manufacturers, where the national project was approved, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov noted that in order to create the UAS industry, a number of large-scale problems must be solved, for example, it is necessary to consolidate manufacturers and create a system of cooperation and technological support for the production of drones.

Belousov also said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade had taken measures to localize the production of components and engines. “I will note right away that it will be necessary to make a separate program for components, similar to the one we have for auto components,” the First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

At the end of 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to establish serial production of BAS in the country. The Cabinet of Ministers was supposed to form a commission on the development of BAS, which would deal with tasks related to their development, production, certification and operation, development of the necessary infrastructure, etc. Then the president instructed Belousov to head the commission.

In addition, the President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to determine the categories of airspace zones for drone flights, as well as the parameters for their use and the characteristics of drones that are mandatory equipped with equipment designed for automatic collision avoidance.
