Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Director of the National Guard Viktor Zolotov visited the OMON camp in Strogino, during the visit, Mr. Sobyanin handed over 100 Moskvich-3 vehicles to the Russian Guards. They will help ensure the effective work of the mobile response teams of the Main Directorate of the Russian Guard in the capital, the authorities said.
“The security of Muscovites and the development of our city largely depend on the work of the Russian Guard,”— commented metropolitan mayor. “These modern vehicles will be a worthy gift to the private security service, which celebrated its 70th anniversary last year,” the head of the National Guard said.
Moskvich-3 is a crossover with a length of 4.41 m, a width of 1.8 m and a height of 1.66 m. It has the ability to connect to smartphones using the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto protocols, as well as all-round cameras and an electric sunroof. The model is equipped with a petrol turbo engine (1.5 l, 150 hp).
In May 2022, the ex-factory “Renault Russia” came under the control of Moscow. On its site, the Moskvich automobile plant was launched. Sales of Moskvich cars began in March 2023. Today they can be bought in 25 cities of Russia, where 55 dealerships operate. In 2023, dealerships should open in 31 more cities. In June “Moskvich” sold 1504 cars, which is a record figure since the start of sales.
