When trying to cross the state border of Russia, over 400 Ukrainian nationalists and employees who committed war crimes were detained at checkpoints. This was reported by the information center of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC), write “RIA News”.
“More than four hundred Ukrainian nationalists and persons who committed war crimes were detained at checkpoints while trying to cross the state border. Entry into the Russian Federation of 1,026 persons involved in terrorist activities was not allowed,” the statement said.
Also, during the joint meeting of the NAC and the Federal Operational Headquarters, NAC Chairman Alexander Bortnikov informed about the increased number of “terrorist manifestations” that were recorded mainly in the border areas in the Central and Southern federal districts. He clarified that most of the cases were related to the activities of the Ukrainian special services.
On October 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the introduction of a “medium response” regime in eight border regions of the Central Federal District and the Southern Federal District – Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk and Rostov Regions (some of them were shelled by Ukraine ).
