The mother of quadruplets from the Moscow region revealed school expenses: what they saved on

A few days separate parents and students from September 1st. Everything has already been bought – backpacks, pens and new shoes – and the parents are counting the expenses. Alas, this year families with schoolchildren were left without a one-time federal payment for the new academic year, as was the case in 2021 (although in some regions the authorities have found funds for this). But for parents with many children, oh, how useful it would be! For example, the Filimonov family from the Moscow region, whose quads go to the fifth grade on September 1 – Ilya, Artem Kolya and Ira. And only one dad works in the family – an ambulance driver, where they pay, it’s clear how much … MK talked to the family about their school expenses.

In 2021, as everyone remembers, the President of Russia introduced a one-time payment to the families of schoolchildren for the new academic year in the amount of 10,000 rubles. There was a pandemic, many people lost their jobs… But in subsequent years, more such sums were not paid. In 2022, payments for schoolchildren were established for families living in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye, Kharkiv, Kherson regions.

Meanwhile, according to Rosstat, in 2023 a basic set of a schoolgirl with clothes and stationery costs 26,838 rubles, which is 11.25% more expensive than last year. A similar set for a boy has risen in price by almost 14% and will cost 22,298 rubles. The other day, MK experts said that, depending on the category of a particular product, the price increase for some things and items for school amounted to 20 to 40% this year! The experts agreed that if we take the price of a new gadget for 10,000 rubles, then together with it the entire “schoolchildren’s set” in 2023 will cost 25,448 rubles.

… Anastasia and Sergey Filimonovs from Krasnogorsk near Moscow are a unique family: their parents raise three boys Ilya, Artem, Kolya and daughter Ira. The first years of the life of the kids were very difficult for young parents, “MK” already wrote about this family at one time, but soon after the birth of the quadruplets, the city authorities allocated them a three-room apartment, and this was great happiness.

“MK” asked mom Anastasia how they are preparing for September 1. They spent, of course, not 25,000 rubles. for each child, and this amount for all four, but this is only because the guys have something left from last year.

“I can see from the clothes that they have risen in price compared to last year,” Anastasia said. – Prices – fly away! We spent 25,000 rubles this year. for everyone: these are backpacks, trousers for boys and Ira, three pairs of shoes for boys. Only one was able to buy a sports suit, the rest will wear last year’s. And this is not all the office bought yet … We will have shirts from last year, I tried them on – they are not small yet. And Ira has so many clothes…

– What do you manage to save on? Do you shop on marketplaces?

– For four backpacks with pencil cases at WB I paid 7,000 rubles, it turned out inexpensively. It turned out well with the shoes – in Kari you take two pairs, the third is free, so I bought three pairs of shoes for the boys. Sometimes friends share baby things…

In general, the children have grown up, and discounts, for example, on shirts, for some reason, apply only to small sizes, to first graders. That is, children grow up, and, it turns out, they are no longer entitled to discounts on clothes. And the bigger the kids get, the higher the price of their clothes…

I receive a unified allowance for children, which, of course, is a great help to us. We fall under the criterion of 50% of the subsistence minimum, which is about 8,000 rubles per child per month. As we were paid the sums for school with many children, I wrote an application to Mosreg.ru in the “Soon to school” section: 3000 rubles. for each of the three and 13,000 rubles. per child with a disability. The second son was also diagnosed, but, unfortunately, they didn’t give him 13,000 rubles, because the family’s income was exceeded by 1,000 rubles …

– Anastasia, is it probably easier that all four are in the same class than if all the children were of different ages, as in most large families?

“Probably a little easier. But there are children who study on their own, but we can only say this about Ira. And the boys need to be constantly checked, controlled … Mathematics is difficult for everyone, we help them with it. After school, we constantly did homework with the children, and now it will be the fifth grade, elementary school has ended, now there are new subjects, new teachers … Of course, I have some feeling of fear about the new school year …

It’s a shame that Anastasia and Sergey are not able to take their children to the sea. The children rested with their mother all summer in the village at the dacha, they only went to the Volga to visit relatives.

“Of course, we would really like to go to the sea,” Nastya shared. – I found out in our social security, they said that they can compensate 50% of the cost of the tour if you provide them with all the necessary documents and certificates, but only upon return. And we do not have such funds to immediately lay out. This is needed somewhere around 200 thousand rubles. for six of us…
