In 2023, the most popular passwords in Russia were “123456”, “1000000” and “12345zz”, as well as “ytsuken”, “girlfriend” and “password”. Izvestia reports this, citing a DLBI study.
According to the newspaper, last year in Russia and around the world the most commonly used passwords were “123456”, “123456789” and “1000000”, which was included in the list for the first time. The top 10 also included the combinations “123123qwe”, “qwerty” and “Qwerty123”, which were not previously seen in the ranking. The password “12345zz” was included in the list of popular passwords in Russia for the first time.
Among the Cyrillic character combinations in 2023, the most common were “Ytsuken”, “girlfriend”, “password”, “12345E” and “YTSUKEN123”. It is especially noted that previously “girlfriend” was not included in the list, but now occupies one of the top places. The top 10 also included “hello”, “123ytsu”, “marina”, “ytsuken12345” and “ytsukengshshchz”.
According to DLBI, users not only prefer simple passwords, but also use the same combinations to access different services.
