Dung soap was known before. Russians found it in Indian stores or brought it from India, and one could find rave reviews on the Internet: “Soap with cow dung and urine saved me! This is a very effective treatment for acne and congestion spots.” The girl indicated that the smell of the soap was “pleasant, herbal.” The title is completely poetic: “Five Gifts of the Sacred Cow.” After all, Ayurveda says: “One cow is enough to be completely healthy.”

“A friend really praised the soap made from manure, saying that the skin becomes soft and velvety to the touch. But the main ingredient confuses me. Do you think it’s worth ordering? They say there is great demand for this company now!” – one Russian woman asked in a women’s chat. The rest of the forum participants laughed at the questioner: “My respect to the creators of the dung franchise, suckers will never die out.”

But now the sellers of the “miracle soap” have gone further: they began to promote its esoteric essence. As everyone knows, in Hinduism, Jainism and Zoroastrianism, the cow is revered as a sacred animal, so cow dung is considered a very valuable product among them. And if Russians are accustomed to fertilizers from cow dung and recognize their unconditional value for a good harvest, then in India soap and other cleaning products, as well as incense for the home, are literally aspirated from manure. As stated in the soap advertisement, few people know this secret – that “cow dung is nectar that can cleanse and fill everything with the energies of purity and love.”

The cost of manure soap, now sold in online stores, is 300 rubles. for 100 g. Marked with the “best seller” icon. There is soap simply with manure, and there is, for example, with the addition of kalinji (black cumin) or turmeric. For all tastes, as they say. “The soap is natural, vegetarian, does not contain animal fats, and is made by hand.” From the description it follows that it “has a pleasant aroma; promotes a calm, confident mood and sound sleep; provides protection from negative influences.” Cow dung “cleanses human prana, removes all types of defilement of the subtle body of the mind from the influence of other living beings.”

But it is clear that few Russians are so close to the ideas of Hinduism. And most of us prefer to eat cows. “I would never buy this soap! – young Muscovite Yulia, who loves buying a variety of personal care products, spoke with horror. – Even if it smells good, even the very thought makes me sick! No matter how they process this manure…”

We also found references to other exotic soaps: there is milk soap (based on the milk of cows, goats, female camels, donkeys), “poisonous” soap (in Korea they make soap from snake venom and with bee venom), fatty soap (in Thailand in the production of cosmetics not only the poison of reptiles is used, but also their fat), gall (from the bile of cows, but they can only remove stains from clothes). “I think that there is no processing there,” suggested soap maker Anna Gorbacheva. – If this soap is made in the same way as I do, then manure, bile, poison and all that stuff is added directly to the alkaline solution, where under the influence of alkali it is all processed on its own. I once made soap with silk cocoons, and it was very interesting to watch how the lye turns them into a liquid mess.”

As leading soap makers say, since natural soap is made on the basis of an alkaline solution, the alkali completely processes all organic matter, it is 100% converted into it.

“It’s difficult to judge the naturalness and “miraculousness” of soap made from manure, since the composition is not indicated on the website,” says Olga Dzhima, who has been making soap for 15 years. – From the point of view of visual inspection, I can assume that the soap is made from a soap base, which is made from natural ingredients and contains synthetic foaming agents. I note that soap is a washable product, therefore, no matter what miraculous components you put in it, they are unlikely to have the effect of rejuvenation, moisturizing, etc.

Of course, you can also add manure to natural soap. Maybe advertising will have an effect on someone and they will “sleep better,” but to a greater extent this will be a placebo effect, which, by the way, has not been canceled. But for me, it’s better to use tar soap, which has proven beneficial properties.

People will use anything, since, unfortunately, our population is poorly educated in terms of the use of cosmetics, including soap. It is easy to mislead the buyer or force something on him through advertising.

“In order to make natural soap from scratch, you only need three ingredients: distilled water, sodium lye and oils,” says soap maker Adilya Vafina. – We use almond, olive, cottonseed oils. In general, soap has only one function – cleansing, it doesn’t have any other “magical” properties – smoothing out wrinkles, rejuvenating the skin… – it’s all a marketing ploy. True, there are additives in soap that soften our skin, but they are definitely not manure. It doesn’t do anything to the soap; rather, it dries it out.

– What is generally added to organic soap?

– This is soap with different “purees”, it is very foamy and is good for children – carrot, pumpkin, avocado puree soap. Nowadays, many masters are playing around and adding a lot of organic matter to soap, and this leads to the fact that it quickly deteriorates. But if you do not overdo it with purees (no more than 10%), then the soap will not spoil for a long time, there will be no microorganisms in it, it is safe. Next, scrubbing particles are added to the soap – nut shells, coffee cake, coffee and different types of clay – blue, red, white. In order for the soap to have an antibacterial effect, for example, shungite and charcoal are added to it. There is no need to enrich it with manure. And in general, the association with manure is wrong, unattractive, incorrect.

…But not only one’s body and hands are offered to be cleansed of “defilement” with the help of excrement charged with the energy of sacred cows, but also the apartment. To do this, you need to wash it with “dried pressed cow dung” diluted in water, made in India. This one costs 750 rubles in online stores. per box of 20 sachets. “If you wash your apartment with cow dung, then all the spirits will run away from there, they will become unbearably cold,” the description states. Directions for use: “Take a small part of the manure, dilute it in water.”

Moreover, it is recommended to wash dishes with cow feces. All with the same esoteric goals. “When a person eats food, he comes into contact with it, and traces of his subtle body remain on this plate. Then perfume sticks to it, and our mood spoils. Therefore, it is recommended to wash utensils with cow dung to clean them completely.” Or you can also wash the bed on which someone “wrong” slept with the same solution. And “after cleansing with water and cow dung, you can light cow dung cakes or special incense.” Manure incense is also available online.
