In the village of Privolny, a holiday of national sports “The Day of Oirat Glory” was held, in which archers from Kalmykia, Buryatia, Bashkortostan, Irkutsk, Yaroslavl, Astrakhan regions participated. Athletes competed in equestrian and traditional archery.
Competitions were held among men and women along the routes: Kalmyk, Hungarian, Tower 90 and on targets: sura and paper.
The winners and prize-winners of which were awarded medals, cash and memorable prizes. According to the results of all routes, the absolute winners were awarded certificates from the breeding farm for a Kalmyk horse, a Kalmyk bull and a Grozny sheep for the first, second and third places.
The most accurate archers were Ochir Atinov and Khongr Uladaev, both from the Kalmyk team, and Rushan Khasanov from Bashkortostan. A certificate for 5 thousand rubles was awarded to the youngest participant, 12-year-old Maria Kopylova from Irkutsk.
Those who wished could practice archery and play barga naadn, the Buryat version of alchiks.
The competition was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 55th anniversary of the formation of the Ulan-Kheech breeding farm. In this regard, the title of “Honorary Citizen of the village of Privolny” was awarded to an old-timer, musician, composer Ivan Sandzhigoryaevich Erdnigoryaev.
