The Moscow City Duma began the autumn session – Moskovskaya Pravda

On September 12, the Moscow City Duma returned to work after a summer break. This was announced by the head of the capital’s parliament Alexei Shaposhnikov.
The Chairman of the Moscow City Duma noted that in the summer the deputies were active in their districts, and now they will resume work on the legislation of the capital. Shaposhnikov called the formation and approval of the budget of Moscow and the Moscow City Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund for 2023, as well as amendments to the city charter, the most important issues of the autumn session. It is planned to expand the powers of Moscow in the areas of family and childhood protection and youth policy.
The head of the Moscow City Duma stressed that all social obligations of the city to its residents will be preserved, and if necessary, additional measures will be taken to provide social support to Muscovites.
Work will continue on already launched projects. Thus, one of the important issues that require a legislative solution is safety when using personal mobility aids (IMs), and in particular electric scooters.
“This fall, we are ready to consider issues related to the introduction of special education in Moscow schools, together with representatives of kicksharing companies, the Moscow government, the parent community, and the traffic police. We are talking about the project “Lessons on driving electric scooters.” This is only part of a large-scale work, ”TASS quotes the words of Alexei Shaposhnikov.
The first meeting of the autumn session of the capital’s parliamentarians will be held on September 21.
