The Moscow City Court upheld the verdict against Ilya Yashin

The Moscow City Court dismissed an appeal against the sentence of politician Ilya Yashin in the case of military fakes. The term remained the same – eight and a half years.
The court sentenced Yashin to eight years and six months in a penal colony, finding him guilty of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (dissemination of deliberately false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation). In addition, according to the verdict, the oppositionist is prohibited from administering Internet resources for 4 years.
Yashin was detained in Moscow on July 12 last year and the next day the Basmanny Court of Moscow took him into custody. He was charged with committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (dissemination of deliberately false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation). According to the plot of the case, we are talking about the dissemination of false information by Yashin about what happened in Bucha during the broadcast on the YouTube channel on April 7. The former municipal deputy himself pleaded not guilty. He insists on a political motive for his prosecution. On July 22, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation entered Yashin into the register of individuals – foreign agents.
