The Moscow City Court rejected the complaint of the former editor-in-chief of Ekho Moskvy, Alexei Venediktov, against a court decision that recognized that he was legally granted the status of a foreign agent. The Ministry of Justice included Mr. Venediktov in the register of foreign media agents in April 2022.
“The court rejected the appeal against the decision of the Cheryomushkinsky Court of Moscow,” a court representative told TASS.
“Echo of Moscow” was disabled off air March 1, 2022. The Prosecutor General’s Office demanded that the radio station’s website be blocked because it disseminated “deliberately false information” about military operations in Ukraine. Now the radio station Sputnik is broadcasting on the frequency of Ekho Moskvy, whose editor-in-chief is Margarita Simonyan. In October blocked the Echo website, which was a project of journalists from a closed radio station.
