The Moscow City Court changed the preventive measure for the co-owner of the holding company for the production of household chemicals V&V Alexander Balakhovsky. Balakhovsky was released from the pre-trial detention center and remains under a ban on certain actions,” the court said. Alexander Balakhovsky has been in pre-trial detention since February 13, when the court granted the state prosecution’s request to tighten the preventive measure and sent him into custody.

Yakov Bosinzon and Alexander Savoskin are also involved in the case. All defendants are charged with fraudulent theft of exclusive rights to the trademarks Unicum, B&B, and Easywork from Best Clean LLC. They are also accused of illegal use of industrial designs, resulting in major damage, illegal use of other people’s trademarks by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, organizing abuse of power with grave consequences for Best Clean, as well as legalization of property obtained by criminal means.

The victim is Denis Shapiro, co-owner of Best Clean. The investigation estimates the damage caused to him and society at 4 billion rubles. Denis Shapiro became the owner of 30% of Best Clean and the general director of the company, which had rights to trademarks of household chemicals manufacturers. That same year, Denis Shapiro was detained on suspicion of committing a crime. Upon his release in 2019, the lawyer wrote a statement to the Investigative Committee. According to the investigation, Alexander Balakhovsky, Yakov Bosinzon and Alexander Savoskin took advantage of the fact that Denis Shapiro was in custody and deprived him of his share in the business, as well as the right to profit.
