The Moscow City Court refused to toughen the measure of restraint for blogger Lerchek

The Moscow City Court on Monday upheld the refusal to place blogger Valeria Chekalina, known as Lerchek, under house arrest.
According to the decision announced by the judge, the decision of the court of first instance was left unchanged, and the presentation of the prosecutor’s office, in turn, was not satisfied.
Earlier, the prosecutor’s office asked the Presnensky District Court to toughen the preventive measure for Chekalina, accused of tax evasion and money laundering, in the form of a ban on certain actions for house arrest, explaining that the accused uses means of communication and communicates with witnesses in a criminal case.
It is noted that the court of first instance refused to satisfy the relevant request, after which the prosecutor’s office appealed this decision.
