The Moscow City Court reduced the 7-year term of Mundep Gorinov by a month in the case of military fakes

The municipal deputy of the Krasnoselsky district of Moscow, Alexei Gorinov, has had his sentence reduced from 7 years to 6 years and 11 months. This decision was made by the Moscow City Court, having considered an appeal against the sentence of the Meshchansky Court to a deputy in the case of “dissemination of false information” about the Russian army (clause “e”, part 2, article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The lawyers of the convict, Katerina Tertukhina and Svetlana Davydova, asked the Moscow City Court to suspend the proceedings and apply to the Constitutional Court with a request to check Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for compliance with the Constitution, says in the Telegram channel in support of the mundep.
During the announcement of the decision Alexei Gorinov stood in a glass “aquarium”. He leaned against the glass a sheet with the inscription “Thank you for solidarity and support!”.
Appeal against the verdict of a municipal deputy in the Moscow City Court obeyed in closed mode. This was done to ensure the safety of the participants in the trial. The judge said that earlier the judge of the Meshchansky Court had received threats. On this fact, a criminal case was initiated.
On July 8, Judge Olesya Mendeleeva of the Meshchansky Court of Moscow sentenced Gorinov to seven years in a penal colony. He was also banned from holding positions in government for four years. He did not admit his guilt.
The court recognized that during a meeting of the Council of Deputies of the Krasnoselsky District in March 2022, Alexei Gorinov incorrectly named the special operation in Ukraine, without reference to official sources, reported the number of dead, called for a minute of silence to honor them. According to him, in such conditions it would be inappropriate to hold a children’s drawing competition.
Aleksey Gorinov was the first to be sentenced to a real term of imprisonment under the article about fakes.
