Russia’s statement that Moldova could become “a second Ukraine” is not true. This was announced by the head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Daniel Voda.
“We categorically reject the statements of the head of Russian diplomacy, which do not correspond to reality and are part of the already well-known threatening rhetoric of Russian diplomacy,” the Moldovan diplomat said.
According to him, the country has already chosen its future, which is to become “part of the free world.” He also added that the state has already chosen the path of European integration, which, according to him, is supported by the majority of citizens.
On Thursday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel, said that Moldova could become the “next Ukraine” because President Maia Sandu is “ready for anything.”
