The MIREA campus switched to distance learning due to measles in a student

On the campus of the Russian Technological University MIREA on Vernadsky Avenue in Moscow, classes from February 9 to 12 will be held remotely due to the registration of a case of measles in a student, reported press service university The message says that from February 13, classes will be held in person according to the schedule.

January 25 in 17 kindergartens in the Rostov region identified measles. Restrictive measures were introduced there. For 21 days, they will not be visited by children who have not been vaccinated and have not had measles. No cases of group infection in organized groups have been recorded.

On January 24, in the main building of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, one of the students identified measles. In this regard, all public events at the university from January 24 to February 8 have been canceled or postponed.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, for the nine months of 2023 in Russia identified 288 times more cases of measles than the year before. According to experts, the increase in measles incidence is associated with the consequences of the pandemic, a shortage of vaccines, as well as increased anti-vaccination sentiment. Meanwhile, in November-December increased the cost of measles vaccines amid the risk of shortages.
