From March 2024, Russians can report the costs of purchasing an air ticket using an electronic boarding pass instead of a paper one, reported Ministry of Transport. In the near future, the department will approve a standard form of electronic boarding pass for all airlines.

According to clarifications Ministry of Finance, if an air ticket is purchased electronically, then to confirm expenses it is necessary to provide an itinerary receipt, which is generated by the air transportation registration system. To confirm your flight, it is enough to provide the accounting department with an electronic boarding pass issued by the airline during online check-in.

As the Ministry of Transport noted, Russian air carriers Aeroflot, Sibir and Ural Airlines have declared their readiness to take advantage of the new approach. Several organizations, including MTS and Sberbank, have begun using electronic boarding passes for employee reporting.

In 2019, the Ministry of Transport allowed passengers to use electronic boarding passes when checking in for a flight. At airports it is still possible to print out a coupon or receive it at check-in.
