Specialists from the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation monitored the readiness of the Sakhalin region to host the Russian-Chinese Winter Games. The regional Ministry of Sports reported this.

Representatives of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation arrived on a working visit to Sakhalin before the IV Russian-Chinese Youth Winter Games, which are scheduled for early 2025. Deputy Director of the Department of High Achievement Sports Angela Timoshina and her colleague Elena Budanova assessed the sports facilities, their preparedness and infrastructure for serious competitions.

“Having seen with my own eyes the sports facilities of the Sakhalin region, as well as the great interest of the island government and the Ministry of Sports in the high-quality holding of the Russian-Chinese Games, trust emerged. One feels confident that the Games will be held here with all responsibility,” Timoshina shared.

Among the facilities visited by federal officials were the Vostok training center, the Arena City sports complex, the Crystal Sports Palace, the Triumph ski and biathlon complex, the Vysota ski jumping complex, and the sports facilities of Mount Parkovaya.

In addition, representatives of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation met with the Deputy Chairman of the government of the island region Vladimir Yushchuk, the head of the regional Ministry of Sports Artem Podshivalov and the director of the regional sports training center Alexei Nikonov. The guests paid special attention to the Vostok educational and training center, where the athletes will live. Competitions in some sports will also be held there.
