The Ministry of Labor has prepared amendments on the preservation of childcare benefits for working mothers

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia has developed amendments to the legislation that retain insurance payments for caring for a child under the age of one and a half years for working mothers. How note in the press service of the department, the amendments provide for the possibility for women to go to work during maternity leave with full preservation of payments.

“The benefit for caring for a child up to a year and a half is an insurance payment, the amount of which depends on the mother’s salary for the two years preceding the year of the child’s birth. The amendments will make it possible to keep such payments for parents, even if the person who took parental leave returned to full-time work ahead of schedule, ”explained Anton Kotyakov, head of the Russian Ministry of Labor.

Now the allowance for caring for a child up to one and a half years is paid only if the parent works part-time, the department noted. If the mother returns to work, the parental leave will be interrupted, but the payments will continue. The amendments were adopted in accordance with the instructions of President Vladimir Putin, the minister specified.
