The Ministry of Justice entered the singer Monetochka (real name Elizaveta Gyrdymova) and the head of the Gulagu.net project Vladimir Osechkin into the register of foreign agents, should from the updated data on the website of the department.
The list of foreign agents was also replenished by Moscow City Duma deputy, member of the Yabloko faction Daria Besedina, bloggers Vadim Kharchenko and Anton Ustimov (Pikuli), activist Ibragim Yaganov, as well as the T9 NSK project for transgender people and their loved ones.
The status of a foreign agent in Russian legislation appeared in 2012 along with changes to the law on NGOs, it has been assigned to the media since 2017, to individuals – since 2020. A new register of foreign agents appeared on April 5 – the Ministry of Justice enters into it those individuals who received funding from Ukraine and engaged in political activities.
Last week the Ministry of Justice introduced actor Arthur Smolyaninov and music critic Artemy Troitsky, as well as Ukrainian journalist Oleksandr Shelest, former coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) Sergei Ukhov and lawyer Anatoly Fursov.
