The Russian Ministry of Justice has added the non-governmental Belgian organization Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies to the list of undesirable organizations. The organization became the 103rd undesirable organization in Russia. Updated scroll presented on the website of the Ministry.
August 3 Prosecutor General’s Office acknowledged undesirable activities of the Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies in Russia. The agency claims that the organization creates a negative image of Russia and contributes to increased sanctions pressure on the country.
The Center for European Studies was established in 2007 by former Belgian Prime Minister Wilfried Martens under the auspices of the European People’s Party (EPP) of the European Union, which now has a majority in the European Parliament. According to the information on the Center’s website, its goal is to influence politics through the strategies proposed by experts. More than 100 events are held annually under the leadership of the Center.
