According to information “Vedomosti”in 2024 the department plans to conduct research work (R&D) and prepare datasets for training and testing neural network models, and in 2025 to develop two AI-based systems “Clone” and “Conjuncture”.
“Clone” will make it possible to identify facts of forgery of video images in the interests of law enforcement, “Conjuncture” should predict negative events and emergency situations and model response scenarios to them, Vedomosti notes.

For the first time about intention engage The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation announced neural networks in the process of searching for attackers in 2020. Then the department planned to use neural networks to search for and identify serial criminals.
Law enforcement agencies have repeatedly tried to use AI for their own purposes, but previously it was mainly about recognizing faces and objects in images and videos. Now the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for example, uses artificial intelligence to search and identify a person from a photograph and record traffic violations.
