The Ministry of Internal Affairs introduced a service to identify unscrupulous owners of crypto wallets

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has implemented a digital service “Personal account of a law enforcement agency”, which helps to identify unscrupulous owners of crypto wallets, declared head of the GUEBiPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, police lieutenant general Andrey Kurnosenko in an interview with TASS.

“There is already a positive experience of using this tool to identify unscrupulous owners of crypto wallets,” said Kurnosenko.

The head of the GUEBiPK Ministry of Internal Affairs also spoke about the analytical module that this digital service has. Such a characteristic, as Kurnosenko noted, allows you to quickly receive and evaluate data on the financial risks of the economy in the country, and also shows the results of joint work in the context of national projects, along the lines of work in the field of housing and communal services, the defense industry, cybercrime, etc.

Earlier, on December 5, Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market informedthat the cryptocurrency will be legalized in Russia in 2023, but it cannot be used as a means of payment within the country. Cryptocurrency will be used, among other things, to pay for parallel imports and deliveries of goods to Russia, the deputy stressed. Aksakov noted that the bill on the use of cryptocurrencies for international payments was expected to be adopted before the end of the year, but the necessary approvals are still underway.

On November 17, a group of deputies from different factions, led by Aksakov, amended the law on digital financial assets (DFA) – the bill describes the regulation of mining in Russia. It defines this type of activity, the mining pool, introduces a ban on advertising and offering cryptocurrencies, as well as services for their release in the country. It will be possible to sell the mined digital currency mainly on foreign platforms, and on Russian ones only within the framework of the experimental legal regime (EPR). This initiative, as wrote earlier Vedomosti, the crypto community criticized.
