The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put the former Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia, foreign agent Sergei Aleksashenko, on the wanted list, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the department’s search database.
Aleksashenko* held this position from May 1993 to March 1995. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he is outside the Russian Federation.
The message states that the basis for the search for Aleksashenko* is one of the articles of the Criminal Code of Russia. Since June 16, Aleksashenko* has been included in the register of foreign agents, in connection with the dissemination of false information about Russia, as well as participation in public events organized by foreign agents and foreign media.
It was also reported that Aleksashenko* participated in the preparation of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the chairman of the State Duma Commission to investigate the facts of interference of foreign states in the internal affairs of Russia, Vasily Piskarev, asked the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia to take response measures in connection with Aleksashenko’s anti-Russian activities*. Piskarev said that in the activities of Aleksashenko* and other Russians, signs of crimes under the articles “Calls for the introduction of restrictive measures against the Russian Federation” and “High Treason” can be seen.
