The Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to update the list of goods for parallel imports

The list of goods allowed for parallel imports may be updated in two to three months. Vasily Osmakov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, told reporters about this at the Innoprom exhibition.

“I think that in a couple of months we will come out with a new order,” clarified he (TASS quote).

At the same time, the press service of the ministry told the agency reportedthat it is planned to exclude Mast-Jagermeister SE products from the list of goods.

Parallel import involves the importation of original goods into the country without the permission of the copyright holder or manufacturer. In the Russian Federation, this measure began to operate on March 29, 2022 in response to Western sanctions. In September, the mechanism was extended to 2023. The list of products for import on parallel imports includes goods from electronics manufacturers (Apple, SamsungIntel, Asus, etc.), cars (Porsche, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, etc.), rare earth metals, sports equipment, etc.

In June, the Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmedthat discussions are underway on the possibility of limiting the parallel import of radio electronics. The agency collected substantiated proposals for specific brands. On the fields SPIEF Head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadaye informedthat the government is discussing a ban on the import of Samsung and LG mobile devices under such a scheme.
